Hi, I’m Lynn — nice to meet you.
I work as a therapist and counselor in Ghent, guiding individuals and couples who wish to reconnect with themselves, deepen their emotional awareness, and navigate life’s challenges. My approach is grounded in emotion-focused therapy, which helps you tune into your inner emotional world, break free from patterns, and live more authentically.
I often meet clients who are very strong in their minds, but less familiar with their inner emotional experience. Others experience the opposite: their emotions feel so intense or overwhelming that they find it difficult to navigate them. Exactly in that tension — between thinking and feeling — my approach offers an opening. Clear, direct, and emotion-focused, with room for both insight and regulation.
My Background & Expertise
Certified by Focus on Emotion (Emotion-Focused Therapy).
Extensive experience with people from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds, including couples and individuals.
Regularly work with expats navigating loss, reorientation, and identity.
Extensive experience in supporting men, who often carry different expectations, barriers, and social messages around emotions.
Skilled in supporting clients going through life transitions and identity questions.
Sensitive to the very specific pressure young parents are under.
Competent in addressing issues of gender identity and expression.
Open to spiritual exploration and questions of meaning.
Experienced in post-psychedelic integration and helping you translate those insights into everyday life.
“As a therapist and counselor, I stand for warm connection, simple, direct language and honest optimism.”
My Approach
I guide my clients from a feeling-first perspective — in the triangle of thoughts – feelings – behaviors, I start with the emotional layer. That’s where deep, transformative work happens.
This helps both people who:
are very head-oriented and struggle to connect with what they feel, and
those who feel overwhelmed by their emotions and need a safe space to better understand and regulate them.
Together, we find a way to how you feel that is safe, meaningful and manageable.
My Therapeutic Style
I take an active, warm, and engaged approach. I reflect what I hear, ask clarifying questions, and gently mirror what comes up — always with empathy, but also with honest feedback when it is needed.
My goal is to help you:
get closer to who you really are
free yourself from limiting beliefs, protective strategies and old masks
discover deeper insight and a more authentic way of living
Because so many of the patterns we live by are “blind spots,” therapy can be a powerful catalyst for transformation.
